Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Fengshan Village?
The best area to stay in Fengshan Village is within the main cluster of guesthouses and homestays located centrally, near the village square and the local temple.

This central area is the heart of Fengshan, where most of the village's amenities are found. It's a compact and walkable area, with narrow lanes winding between traditional homes and small shops. You'll find the main bus stop here, making it convenient for arrival and departure, and it's also where the local eateries are concentrated.

For travellers looking for an authentic cultural experience, staying in this central part of Fengshan is ideal. You'll be right at the pulse of village life, able to easily interact with locals, and participate in any community events that might be happening.
When is the best time to go to Fengshan Village?
The best time to go to Fengshan Village is during the dry season, from November to April.

During these months, the weather is generally cooler and less humid, with clearer skies, making it ideal for exploring the village's natural beauty and hiking trails. You'll find it more comfortable for outdoor activities like visiting the Fenghuang Waterfall or walking through the tea plantations that dot the hillsides.

Couples looking for a peaceful escape will appreciate the tranquil conditions during this period. The crisp air and often sunny days provide a great backdrop for enjoying the scenic vistas and the quiet charm of the village without the interruption of heavy rain. It's an excellent time for leisurely strolls and photography.

For solo travellers interested in nature and local culture, this dry period offers optimal conditions for engaging with the village's agricultural heritage, particularly the tea harvesting season which often begins in spring.
